Recently, I did some kickboxing, which I haven’t done in forever.

How SWEET is that?! I already eat banana peels, so why not the flower too! :)

I recently discovered the BEST FLIGHT FOOD EVER by mistake while traveling to Thailand that I must share with you all!
We all had airline food, and typically it just isn’t the greatest. Depending on which airline you fly, it can be either a step above or even BELOW CAFETERIA FOOD.
Thankfully, flight food options are getting way better. But, I still plan for the worst and pack healthy, nutrient-rich energy snacks to hold me over on a flight.

It’s an awesome cookbook that fulfill the needs of elite and amateur athletes to prepare easy and simple real food snacks, so that they can perform well.
One of my favorite snacks from the cookbook was the Cheesy Kale Chips.
Those who are dairy-free can appreciate and might love nutritional yeast even more. It is a great source of protein, and super cheesy and tasty :)
You just pop these suckers into the oven and just forget about them for 25 minutes until it is time to take them out.
Once you dig in, you can’t image having kale chips without them being cheesy and oh so yummy.
Yes, that’s right. You are literally throwing away something that is so valuable and you don’t even know it!
Haha, YES – this girl just said banana peels! I know, crazy talk. I use to think the same thing. But banana peels, and the skin, rinds, and seeds of some fruits are loaded with ridiculously amazing amounts of phytonutrients. Hence why I grate the lemon peel into my Zesty Lemon Delight.
You may not know this about me, but I went through my own health struggle…
I suffered from IBS; developed random food sensitivities, even to things that are suppose to be healthy for you like garlic and artichokes; daily bloating and/or constipation; my hormonal balance was out of wack; and my skin was breaking out like never before! I was just a big hot MESS!
I was constantly researching and trying out ANYTHING to make myself feel better, to feel whole again. It didn’t happen over night, but over the years I was able to get myself back to being healthy, happy, and loving life again.
But you know what? It shouldn’t take years and years to get the RIGHT INFORMATION. Sadly, a lot of the information is just rubbish out there. Especially, the information put out by the media!

Don’t worry, I made the same mistake too! I listened to the crap that the media brainwashed into our heads that we need to limit salt intake or we risk getting anywhere from hypertension to heart attacks. Yikes! So of course just like everyone else – I avoided salt like there was no tomorrow. I read all the nutrition labels and would only buy things that had low or no salt added.
Thankfully, folks like Dr. Brownstein are talking about the conventional nonsense of limiting your salt intake. In this blog post, he surprisingly states that for 20 years his analysis of thousands of blood tests continue to show that most patients are salt deficient!
Did you know that adequate amounts of salt are needed to perform a variety of essential function, including thyroid and adrenal function? Mmmm Hmmm, so time to change your salt phobia starting today.
YES – that is CORRECT! LOVE vitamin D by showing MORE skin! Because you really ain’t doing your body any favors by just wearing your t-shirt and jeans.
I made the same mistake too!
I thought I was solid with vitamin D since a) I lived in San Diego, and b) I was quite active outdoors – exposing my face, forearms, and legs. But, then my doctor brought me back to reality by informing me that my vitamin D serum was 29.3 ng/mL. Ideally you want to sustain a level of 50-70 ng/mL year-round.
Basically…I lived in sunny San Diego and I had a vitamin D deficiency – that’s just CRAY CRAY! Even more crazy, it’s pretty much the norm without people knowing it.
